Roses are .... black?

I'm at work minding my own business, going about my daily activities in my ordinary sweet and innocent way when I return to my desk to see a "priority" package waiting for me.

I immediately notice that the return address is from a company that specializes in sending roses to people. Not just any roses, mind you ... these ones are special!! These roses are of the rare variety that you can only get a few days after they have been cut from the vine. That's right, I got a package with a dead rose in it!!

"Who would send you a dead rose?" you might ask. I am asking that same question.

As it turns out, I don't have an answer. Not that I wouldn't love to know who sent me a dead rose, but apparently they forgot to enclose the card telling me whom the package was from.

I double-checked my Christmas list and sure enough, a dead rose wasn't on it.

It's interesting because in Turkey, there is a kind of rose which is actually black! And it is quite worthy since it is rare :)
but they aren't dead!

There are black roses which are really pretty, but this doesn't sound like one of them.

Receiving that would creep me out -- big time.
