We are just a few weeks away from the 2007 Alzheimer's Association Orlando Memory Walk.  We want to thank everyone who has joined or supported the team so far, and encourage anyone who's been thinking about it to join in!  There are many ways you can help support the Alzheimer's Association, the world leader in Alzheimer research and support.  Their mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research, to provide and enhance care and support for all affected by Alzheimer's, and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. 

First, you can sign up with a local walk team.  If you'd like to join us in Orlando, sign up by clicking here.  Next click on the Join Our Team link near the top, middle of the page.  A few steps later, you will be registered as a walk team member with your own fund raising goal!  Our walk will be on Saturday, October 6th, at Lake Eola, downtown Orlando.  Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., and the walk itself is at 9:00 a.m.

Next, you can also sponsor any individual walker.  If you'd like to sponsor a walker on the PPP Team, click our team page.  About half way down the page, you will find the names of our current registered walkers.  Pick anyone to sponsor by clicking on his/her name.  That will take you to the walker's page, and you'll be able to donate any amount online!  So far, Priscilla's kicking our butts!  The rest of us need to catch up - help us out, please!

You can also send in a General Donation here in case you want to support the cause but just can't decide which walker you want to sponsor :)

This month, we've also added the Alzheimer's Walk to the charity drop downs in the post submit pages for PPP Posties.  Next to 'Save/Donate my fee?', you will now see: American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, and Alzheimer's Walk.  While the posts you submit now will not pay out before the walk, we will certainly still be passing along those donations to the Alzheimer's Association when they are ready for payment!  Just think one $5.00 or $10.00 post from each active Postie?  Wow!  Let's see Priscilla beat that!  ;)

Finally, some of our Posties are also joining in their local Memory Walks this year.  If you are, please add your own Team and Walker pages here in the comments so we can promote as many Memory Walk Teams this year as possible.  Add the time and location of your local walks to encourage even more folks to sign up!
