Enjoying Las Vegas on a Budget During Postie Con

I know that many of you are excited to come to PostieCon (as you should be).  However, I'm sure that a number of Posties are stretching their budget to get to PostieCon and unless they win it big at the slot machine they won't have much discretionary money for entertainment in Las Vegas.  Have no fear, techie's here to show you all the great FREE and inexpensive entertainment you can find in Las Vegas.  These activities come in the form of fantastic art, outdoor activities, talented performances, roaring animal shows and beautiful plant displays.

Rock and Roll Memorabilia at The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino
From the Beatles to ZZTop, The Rock has collectibles that will bring you back in time or have you relish the present in a display that is rare and brings forth the excitement of Rock
and Roll.

Free Casino Lounges
Often casinos have lounges where you can sit down and enjoy music without the hassle of having to purchase food or drink. Let the music flow into your ears for the price of listening…
zero dollars. Generally, these are nice places to relax after a long day at BloggerWorld or PostieCon.

Fremont Street Experience
Launch your eyes towards the 90 foot high four block long extravaganza of lights and sound. It is great for all ages!

The Volcano at the Mirage Hotel and Casino
Come as close to a volcano as you dare. Where else can you time an eruption of a volcano to the minute and watch its lava ignite a lagoon without so much as a blister?

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area
Come drive, bike, hike or just stand in the grandeur that is the Red Rock Canyon. You’re eyes won’t believe the spectacular deep red colors that paint this part of the Earth.

Atlantis Water Show in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino
This is a laser, fountain, fire, steam and production show all in one. This is one of the more popular free shows in Las Vegas.  It’s located near the Cheesecake Factory in the Forum Shops.

Fountains at The Bellagio Hotel and Casino

Contemporary or classical music fills the air as it synchronizes with jets of water that spray into the Las Vegas sky.  This is definitely my favorite and a must see.

Sirens of TI at Treasure Island hotel and Casino
This “modern musical-meets-action-movie spectacular” is well themed and won’t disappoint the pocket book because… it’s FREE! Bright lights, special effects and great acting bring this show to life.

Masquerade Village Sky Show at the Rio Hotel and Casino
Floats hang from tracks high above the Casino floor in a Carnival themed type of celebratory excitement. Catch some beads and have fun as if you were in New Orleans.

There are a lot of other events that are free, and I'm sure that Jules and other Las Vegas posties will point them out. Enjoy the ones above and you’ll see why Las Vegas is known as the entertainment capital of the world! (Even if you just have little to nothing in your pocket).

Now stop waiting to sign up for Postiecon.  You don't want to miss out on all the fun.

Great suggestions!

I LOVE the Freemont Street light show and the Rio is a fabulous party atmosphere. I heartily second the Sirens at TI, Volcano and Fountains...

Oh, now you have me all wound up and getting excited at the thought of POSTIECON in LAS VEGAS - only 28 more sleeps!

Hey! Great timing, Techie. Thanks! :-D I have just been balancing out my budget on the determination that I can make it after all - provided some idjit don't buy up the last seat on the plane before I can get my flights booked later today.

A few months ago airfare alone was in the $1,000 range, but it is starting to look like I can book both flight and hotel for around that now. I love PFD specials in Alaska. :-D

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm hoping that I'll get time to walk around the strip a bit and see some of the places you've mentioned. I've never been to Vegas before so I'm sure it will be fun just to explore.
