IZZZzzzzzZzzZzZzzzz..... can you feel it!?!? The excitement is building. Change is happening all around us. BIG changes. I can't wait to see you all at PostieCon.
Check-out the latest episode of RockStartUp. Titled "Rock Star: Postie," it follows the Marketing Team as they head to CollegeFest in Boston. This event was particularly fun because it enlisted the help of two Posties: Drew and Justin.
Addicted to this web documentary? Don't forget you can watch every episode at RockStartUp.com, and you can also subscribe to the RSS feed as well as through iTunes!
I have a confession to make. I am not a huge fan of road trips. In fact, stick me a in car for more than four hours and I am pretty miserable. Not as miserable as Mr. Fab on a plane, but not the happiest camper either. The mexican jumping bean inside of me feels trapped inside of a car and just wants to leap out of the window like my dog was I was ten (don't worry, he was fine and no I don't know how he survived unscathed either).
So why did I come up with the idea of a cross country road trip and decide to subject myself to it? The answer is you guys, the Posties. I know many of you can't afford to make it out to PostieCon but that doesn't mean you are any less a part of our family. If you can't come to PostieCon I will try to bring a little piece of PostieCon to you. Sure, I may be acting like a lunatic by the time I am released from the confines of my steel trap on wheels....but I will be your lunatic. Just like that crazy uncle of yours. First stop is the Hard Rock, I know Colleen will be there. Fab are you going to make it? Who else is in?

Hey Posties,
Did you know that November is National Alzheimer's Awareness Month and November 13th is National Memory Screening Day? Please encourage your readers to spread the word that if anyone is concerned about memory problems, they can take advantage of free confidential memory screenings at sites from coast-to-coast.
Knowledge = Care!
Check out the Alzheimer's Foundation of America website to learn more about Alzheimer's disease and related illness...and successful aging. According to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, memory problems can be caused by a variety of factors and identifying the problem is the first step in addressing it and obtaining proper care and early detection is critical to maximize available medical treatments and support services.
Please look for the National Memory Screening Day PPP marketplace opportunity in the next couple of days, just in time for National Alzheimer's Awareness Month!
For a screening in your neighborhood, visit http://www.nationalmemoryscreening.org!
Thanks!
Ding! Ding! Ding! This is what the office has been hearing a lot lately! Why, you may ask! Because Ted thought it would be fun to hang a bell on the wall and have the sales people ring it EVERYTIME a deal was closed! While us sales people think this is fun, the other team members aren't so thrilled :(
The sales team has been working very hard with advertisers to help make this month the biggest month ever. Today, we received a package from Ted (he is out of town) to help motivate us!
Be on the lookout for many new opportunities in our marketplace, as we have MANY campaigns in the works!
People have all sorts of reasons for blogging. Some people just use blogging as an outlet to emote their thoughts and feelings. Some bloggers want attention. Some bloggers just enjoy writing. However, at the end of the day, I think that most bloggers just want to have their blog read. Payperpost bloggers are probably even more interested in this, because having a large number of readers of your blog usually translates into better Alexa and PR rankings which equals more money. My guess is that with Argus's new statistics engine, blog traffic will become even more important to those wanting to make money using Payperpost.
On that note, I thought I'd throw in a few idea on how to drive more traffic to your blog. I'm not planning on giving you an exhaustive list of things you can do. I'm just going to point out a few things I've seen which help drive traffic to my blogs.
For a new blogger, I'm pretty sure that most bloggers agree that the easiest way to get some readers of your blog is to comment on other blogs that are similar to yours. Many of you new bloggers may be wondering how you find other bloggers with similar interests. It's quite easy. I personally prefer to use Google's Blog search, Technorati is also popular, but there are hundreds of other blog search engines out there. Do a search on your favorite thing and start reading what other people have to say about it. The hidden secret to this method is that the more blogs you read and comment on, the more ideas you'll have to write about on your blog. I recently heard that to be a great writer you have to be a great reader. It's definitely true.
Second, use good keywords in your blog title. If your blog is designed right (which most are), the title of your blog post is one of the most important factors in where you're ranked in Google and other search engines. My wife is horrible at this. I've tried to teach her to create creative titles with good keywords, but she doesn't care. Here's a few of her recent blog post titles "Fixed" "Ebb and Flow" and "Identical Twins." These simple titles won't help at all in getting Google to send traffic your way and would you rather read a blog post called "Fixed" or "My Wretched Computer Has Finally Been Saved?" A well written blog title is like a headline in a newspaper. Make one that people will want to read and Google will find unique.
My final suggestion today is to interact with other bloggers on the PayPerPost forum. Not only is there a whole section on marketing and promotion, but interacting with other bloggers on the forum is a great way to find new readers. I know that the forum is the way that I've found many of the blogs that I read and comment on regularly. Not only will this drive traffic and readers to your blog, but you will also create interesting friendships with people around the world or even your own backyard.
There are hundreds of other ways to get new readers and increase traffic to your blog. We'll cover those later. Until then, these three things will help make your blog happy.
You guys all know that I believe in constant change, challenge and improvement. I try to apply those principles to all aspects of my life and this company.
I think our blog has come a long way but I am sure that some of you still think it sucks. If you do I want to know why. What can we do to make it better? What type of information do you crave? What posts could you do without? I want honest and open feedback here, its the only way we can get better.
While you are at it you might want to ask your readers the same thing on your own blog. There's nothing better than a little constructive criticism to grease the old creative wheels.
I can't believe that PostieCon is almost here! Next week Ashley, Travis and I will pile into a Ford Excursion (the RV was too expensive) and make the trek from Orlando all the way to Las Vegas on our Blog America Tour. Are we crazy? Yes! Do I hope that Travis doesn't eat Taco Bell the night before we leave? Yes! Am I excited to meet a bunch of Posties along the way? HELL YES!
We will be departing next Thursday from Orlando. We welcome any Orlando area Posties to drop by the office downtown for lunch around noon. At 7PM we will descend upon the Hard Rock Casino Tampa. Postie extraordinare Colleenie Weenie will be there and I hope to see a strong showing from the other Tampa area Posties.

Each Postie that shows up will grab a $45 Opp to blog about the meetup and Travis will be filming for an episode of RockStartup. We are also collected can goods for charity, the Postie that brings the most will be given a brand new 5th Generation Roomba 530 on the spot!! This is the latest and greatest robotic vacuum from our friends at iRobot.
I don't know if Colleen is going to come dressed as Fifi or not, but it will be fun either way!
Full House:
As the company grows the PayPerPost team needs to expand, despite the lack of office space. Ted looks to fill a void left on the West Coast after Jody's departure.
Don't forget to catch up on past episodes of RockStartup either in the player above or at RockStartup.com

It's all starting to come together and it is extremely exciting. I was browsing through Argus today and I got the chills. This thing is going to be amazing once everything is tweaked and hooked together. I want to thank all of you who have participated in the analytics testing process. The data that we have collected has been very helpful.
It is amazing to see the difference in numbers reported by all the different stats packages. It seems everyone has their own idea of what a visitor and pageview is. The good news is that we are in line with the various packages out there and are comfortable with the data we are capturing and will be reporting. So.... what is all this data going to be used for? Here is a little glimpse into the future...
