The Argus name has been chosen

I want to thank everyone who participated in the discussion about the name for the new Argus platform. This debate proved to me just how dedicated and vocal our community is. You guys beat the hell out of the names we put forward and I am really happy that you did. I want to thank John Reese of income.com who dropped me a very nice personal email which sent me down the track that eventually lead me to the name we have chosen. I also want to thank Sandra, who will be receiving a new iPod Nano (please send your home address and phone number to asktedmurphy @ google.com)

So... are you ready to hear the decision??? The new name is.... drumrolll please.... youaregoingtohavetowaituntilpostiecon.com. Oh no he di'dant! Oh yes I did. I know, what a bastard I am. I can't believe I would do that. Come on guys, you know I love a surprise! We have consensus here that it is perfect (which we didn't have on any of the other names). You are gonna like it :)

Here is what I can tell you:

PayPerPost.com is not going away nor was it ever going away. This new domain is in addition to our current offering. I know a few of you had questions about this so let me assure you this is the case. You will still be able to take and create Opps on November 10th as you always have at PayPerPost.com. thenewthingthatisargus.com will go into a closed alpha at PostieCon. Keys will be assigned to PostieCon participants first, then those who volunteered to help with PPP Tools, then all existing PPP members, then will go live to the general public.

I am FIRED UP. Speaking of fired up.... who is this little guy? I think he needs a name.

hmmmmm.

Name him Ralph. Why be obvious?

Btw, I'm so sore that I won't be able to go to PostieCon. I don't usually "do" those kind of gatherings, but this is one that I really wanted to attend not only to meet the PPP folks, but to hang out with my fellow Posties as well.

Now, if y'all start talking "childcare services available", I may just have to change my mind.

I'm getting more and more bummed that I can't go to PostieCon. Family obligations do that sometimes.

Kate,
I'll volunteer my wife to watch your kids. Although she'll probably be attending some sessions herself and definitely the party. So maybe that won't work out.

Eeeeek! At seeing my name up there! ... :::pause to stop and catch breath and reread (10 times)::: :-D :::hugs Ted!!!::: (Am I allowed to do that? LOL!)

:::reads on::: Man, I wanna go ta PostieCon. :::joins the 'bummed-I-can't-go-too' group:::

Eeeeek! again at the cute dude!

Well, assuming we're not going to name him George (hugs him and loves him anyway) I liked Martin's suggestion of Teenage Mutant Ninja Garlic Clove, but Lisa's Spark'd is probably the best one I have seen so far. So I second Spark'd

Techie, thanks for the volunteer. Unfortunately, my husband is too wise of a man to let me go to Vegas, with or without my son in tow.
