I'm sorry, I just had to blog about this. I was looking at some of the screens for RealRank today and Daniel told me that the dev team has code named the project "Goo Gone". I couldn't think of a more appropriate name. I can't wait for PPP to be free from the unpredictable and inconsistent grasp of PR. I love Google Search, I love Google Maps, I love Google Earth, but Page Rank is a total dog. I have heard rumblings that they are going to do away with it completely and I think that would be a wonderful move.
The RealRank system spit out our first set of results yesterday based on real data from the people participating in the analytics program.... I know who number one is and I have to say I was surprised. Look for Real Rank integration into PPP next week barring any huge issues. Have a great weekend.

I will be happy to use some GooGone, but am a bit anxious to see how a newer blogger such as myself will fare with RR. I am still learning how to build traffic afterall.

You love Google Search, eh? I'd like to see just how good Google's results would be if they allowed PayPerPost shills to come above real blogs and sites. People do have a choice of search engine, y'know ... and no one set's their Tivo to only record the adverts.

How does one get into this beta program? I run a number of sites and would love to drop Google analytics as a measurement tool.
So, who do I contact about getting in on this program???

I love the concept of dumping PR from PPP. I also like PPP creating a "real rank" I just worry about it being based on traffic.
Look I buy a lot of links from PPP for my clients and I could not really care if the blog has traffic or not. If it does so be it, great, bonus! However, I want mostly the value that comes from links for SEO. This is exactly what the socialists at Google are attacking.
So what is a better solution. How about a bit of API programming and mining the Yahoo Site Explorer data base. Then construct a simple algorithm to assign a rank 1-10 just like Google PR. If a site has a ton of one way links and if the sites linking to it are well linked to as well (two levels of data mining) then I know it will pop well for SEO rankings.
As an advertiser this is what I am most concerned with. I will take any and all of the bursty traffic I can get from the posts, my investment though is in long term link building. I will and do pay more for better links.
Heck what if you just created a link score, total external links from Yahoo Site Explorer on a per domain basis. Anything like that would help me better value my spend.
