Horizon Interactive Awards - 2008 Silver Winner (Best Blog Category)
Rosie loves us!

Well, maybe not us, specifically, but she sure does love her Blogger's Choice Award for "Best Celebrity Blogger" (http://rosie.com/blog).  Week-before-last I mailed out Rosie's award, along with some cool new IZEA swag (t-shirts, koozies, mouse pads, and buttons), and apparently she received it.  Check-it-out here.

Notice that cheeky photo of myself and Britt?  I just had to include it.  And I have to thank Rosie's press people in being so enthusiastic about the award, and being so helpful to me in getting Rosie's swag to her.  (Now let's convince them to get Rosie to emcee our awards ceremony next year!)

That's nice that you have celebrities that won and all, but couldn't you find somebody who's not a moron? Rosie is one my my top 10 hated people ever.

Thanks for your feedback, all. It's always great when users get involved in conversation with us -- don't ever stop that.

I understand the majority of people have strong opinions about Rosie, one-way-or-another, but consider her power as a blogger. She has a huge following, and almost anytime she's mentioned in the mainstream media it's as a reference to her blog. I think that's pretty amazing, and a testament to the impact of blogging and social media.

It could also be an opportunity for our company to have broad exposure to a new audience, which could end-up benefiting us all!

Dew - The whole point of the award is that it is the choice of the Blogosphere, not one company or person or group within the Blogosphere, but the Blogosphere as a whole (or at least those who decided to participate in the Bloggers Choice Awards).

There are people, such as yourself, that dislike Rosie, but that does not lessen the reality that the award was won by her because the majority of the people that voted in that category felt she was the most deserving of the recognition.

I think it is an awesome way to recognize who the Blogosphere as a whole is looking up to and that all of the winners should rightly be proud of their wins because it is their peers that voted for them.

Very cool. I'm a big Rosie fan myself, not that it matters. My first thought was what you mentioned, Ashley - about Rosie's reach. Having Izea's brand in her video like that was powerful - and is far reaching. A better person, as far as Izea is concerned, couldn't have won. Congrats, guys!

Whoo hoo! Rosie rules - I was always a fan of hers, but the more outspoken she's become, I have to admit, the bigger a fan I become, lol. Congrats to both Izea and Rosie. :D

Ashley - that's why I said it's cool about the whole celebrity thing. I do agree that this can be really good for you guys, let more people know about Izea, possibly adding advertisers as well. Just wish it was somebody cool that actually won, like Wil Wheaton or Zach Braff

Geez you guys, you couldn't send her a flip phone or an iPod? lol Was that on her blog? If all of her readers are now searching to find out what IZEA is, than that's pretty awesome product placement :)

Anyone who wins such an award deserves it. Maintaining a blog is not exactly a cinch and to have your peers feel strongly enough to vote for you is a testament to a good job. Congrats Rosie!

Good for her. She drives me nuts most of the time, but winning that award is quite an accomplishment.

I think it's fantastic as well. The fact that it was voted and she won it shows that she really is very grounded and normal like the rest of us that blog and she does a great job at it. Like said before, blogging isn't exactly a cinch. I think it's great for IZEA, just great. Congrats to Rosie for being so diverse in talent.

I think it's pretty cool. I am not a huge *fan* of Rosie, but I applaud her for not backing down. (Trump, the View...etc) She stands up for what she believes is right - and that is a huge thing in today's world.
