It's time for your own domain

I have been saying this for many months now, but I recognize that we have hundreds of new Posties signing up each day. SocialSpark relies very heavily on the IZEA Toolkit (ITK), a piece of javascript that is installed on your blog. This code is what allows us to track your traffic, rank your blog and provide performance metrics to our advertisers. It is also used to serve up our new Blog Sponsorship display advertising option.

Many of the free hosts like Live Journal do not allow you to install javascript on your blog. This will not preclude you from utilizing SocialSpark entirely, but it will greatly impact the amount of available Opps you qualify for and you won't be able to take a Blog Sponsorship.

I highly recommend that every Postie that is serious about making money moves to a platform that allows javascript. Furthermore, I recommend that you get your own domain. Blogs with their own domain and brand are more attractive to advertisers. Advertisers in SocialSpark will have the ability to look at your blog and compare it to other options before making a purchasing decision. Every little bit helps. Those blogs that create their own brand experience will likely be added to many more Opps.

Ted, I am loving the little tidbits about SocialSpark. I've been wondering what you think will happen with smaller niche blogs. For instance, would a blogger do better to have one or two broad blogs with larger readerships, or several smaller blogs that fracture that readership? And how about "accidental" traffic from search engines and such? That won't be very high on a truly tight blog, but could be considerable on a wider blog.

Hey guys, I recommend you guys to join hosting at Servage.Net. No, I don't have an affiliate link. I have a coupon, 'iclix', you get free space of 25 GB and bandwidth upgrade if you purchase their package. Basically for 8 USD you get 3.6 TB bandwidth with a free domain if you decide to join. So yeah, check it out and let me know how things go.
