IZEAFest 2008

The dates are set, the hotel deposit is in and the planning is well under way for IZEAFest 2008 (formerly PostieCon). This years event will be held in downtown Orlando, right down the street from IZEA headquarters at the beautiful Grand Bohemian Hotel.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Thursday, Sept 11th - 7:00pm-10:00pm Cocktails and appetizers at the sky pool.
  • Friday, Sept 12th - Registration begins at 8:00am, keynote at 9:00am. Last session ends at 5:00pm. Organized group dinner and social at 6:00pm
  • Saturday, Sept 13th - Keynote at 9:00am. Last session ends at 5:00pm. Organized multimedia scavenger hunt with prizes starting at 7:00pm.
  • Sunday, Sept 14th - No Sessions. If you are still here there will be a group organized plan to a theme park.

The fee for the conference will be $65 and will include a conference T-shirt and other swag. There will also be drawings for prizes as we did last year.

We will be providing cocktails and appetizers Thursday night and beverage services during the day Friday and Saturday. Meals will be at a venue of your choice, with breaks to allow for outside dining. We will be negotiating deals on your behalf at local bars and restaurants.

Our goal for this event is to:

  • Help our advertisers be more effective in their campaigns.
  • Help our bloggers become better at their craft.
  • Help our company gain insight and feedback in order to serve our customers.
  • Bring the community of Advertisers, Posties and our team together.
  • Have a hell of a lot of fun doing it.

This years sessions will be designed to be very conversational and interactive. We are going to deal with some serious topics, but we are going to do so IZEA style. You won't be bored. You won't be disappointed. You won't know what to expect next. Speakers will include both community members and outside experts. If you think you should be one of those people let us know.

I look forward to seeing you all at IZEAFest 2008. It is going to be awesome. Once we have all the speakers nailed down we will be putting up a site for you to register and make payment. These dates are set, so block out your calendar now.

Wow what a nice location! :)

A room in that hotel is a little pricey, but I figured it out that the BEST AVAILABLE RATE: Deluxe 2 Queen Room when split by 4 people will be $162 per person for the whole weekend Thursday through Sunday.

That is really close to the start of the school year, and my son's birthday is the 16th, but I really want to try and make it this year.

Sounds great, after just being there last week I can say that there are a ton of great places to eat in that area so we will have a fantastic time!

We will be putting together hotel deals at other hotels. This hotel can be a bit pricey, but there are many others in the downtown area that are very reasonable.

Do you have to attend the whole convention or can you just attend a day or two? I live close to Orlando but with my daughter in school and no child care I couldn't make the whole time...though I sure wish I could.

Looks very fun!

Would love to go, but I too must go on the cheap! Plane fare could be frightening. But then so could petrol and I'd rather fly. ;)
Will have to see what up with finances a bit later in the year.
